Micro Stories From Science : 30 seconds Science Slam
A fast-paced and highly engaging science communication challenge where participants must explain a scientific concept in 30 seconds using simple language, creativity, and storytelling. Each participant receives a random science term (e.g., entropy, black hole, quantum tunneling, CRISPR) and must convert it into an understandable mini-story. The event enhances scientific thinking, creativity, and communication skills.

RULES & REGULATIONS
Event: MICRO STORIES FROM SCIENCE 30 Second SCIENCE SLAM
Participation Rules
This is an individual event; team participation is strictly not allowed.
Each participant will be allowed only one entry.
Participants must register before the specified deadline and report at the venue on time.
Topic & Content Rules
A science term/topic will be allotted randomly to each participant at the time of the event.
The explanation must be scientifically correct, simplified, and presented as a mini-story.
Content must be original; plagiarism or memorized online explanations will lead to disqualification.
Use of offensive, political, religious, or inappropriate content is strictly prohibited.
Time Rules (Non-Negotiable)
Each participant will get exactly 30 seconds to present.
A digital timer/buzzer will indicate the start and end of the presentation.
Exceeding the time limit, even by a few seconds, will result in point deduction or disqualification (jury’s discretion).
Presentation Rules
Participants must present only through speech.
No PowerPoint slides, props, notes, mobile phones, or cue cards are allowed on stage.
Language of presentation must be simple and understandable (English only, unless otherwise announced).
Evaluation Criteria
Participants will be judged based on:
Scientific accuracy
Clarity of explanation
Creativity & storytelling approach
Communication skills
Time management
Conduct & Discipline
Participants must maintain professional behavior throughout the event.
Any form of misbehavior, argument with judges, or rule violation will lead to immediate disqualification.
The decision of the judges and organizing committee is final and binding
